1. DEP Compliance & Best Management Practices
The Green Industry Best Management Practices (GI-BMPs) are a science-based educational program for lawn-care and landscape maintenance professionals that teach environmentally safe landscaping practices that help conserve and protect Florida's ground and surface waters. GI-BMPs were developed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) in concert with Florida's green industry. The core of FNGLA's certifications (FNGLA Certified Horticulture Professional) is designated by the Florida DEP as meeting or exceeding the requirements to be considered an equivalent program.
FNGLA's core certification provides the proof of training required by Florida Statute 482.1562 that states all commercial fertilizer applicators must have a license from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services by January 1, 2014. (Link to DEP Endorsement Letters here)
2. Water Management District Endorsements
