The World's Largest Dish Garden is on display at the Manatee County Fair this week. As you can see in the pictures it really looks good and it is placed in a prominent spot front and center of the fair entrance. The Manatee County Commisioners pictured are Michael Gallen, Robin Di Sabatino, Carol Whitmore & John Chappie.. The officers and the Board of Directors voted to post on the bowl all the names of our members as an added benefit and so everyone can see who their local FNGLA members are. Special thanks for plant donations to Turner Tree & Landscape, Suncoast Nursery, and Sun-Fire Nursery. Also, we thank T. Jay Higgins for storing and hauling the dish garden up to the fair, plus setting up the plants in the dish garden. Furthermore, we had the help of Ralph Garrison, Joe Vickers, and everyone's respective crew members. So if you get the chance come up and see the bowl at the fair and see your name in lights.
On February 14th at the Sarasota County Extension office at Twin Lakes Park we will host a meeting and the topic of the presentation is Diagnosing Plant Problems. We will serve lunch and you will receive a CEU for attending. Please RSVP as the space is limited and FNGLA members have first preference.
