Onsite registration will be open on Tuesday and Wednesday (January 15-16) from 8 am – 5 pm, as well as on show days beginning at 8 am. A word to the wise, registration lines are longest on Thursday morning from 10 am – 12 noon.

RETAILERS CHOICE AWARDS AT TPIE – Retailers, take part in this new activity at TPIE – it’s your turn to choose the products that stand out at the show!  Robert Hendrickson, president of The Garden Center Group, is coordinating this “treasure hunt” as retailers vote on the plants and products that get their attention.  If you would like to take part, meet Robert on Thursday, January 17, between 8:30 – 9:30 am at the FNGLA booth in Lobby A of the convention center.  He’ll provide the instructions and get you on your way.  If you can’t make the initial meeting, stop by the FNGLA booth before noon and receive information to still take part.  Winning products will be announced during the GCA Networking Breakfast on Friday morning.

“IN MY OPINION”CLICK HERE to read the Guest Blog posting by Tom Simmons, president of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD). Tom operates a full-service event planning company in Palm Springs, CA with a special interest in floral, décor and design.  He shares how important industry communities are, especially to newcomers.

TROPICAL PLANT SHIRT THURSDAY – Be sure to wear a tropical plant shirt on Thursday (opening day of the show) and you can be entered in a drawing to win some fun, tropical-related prizes such as Ron Jon’s Surf Shop and Bass Pro Shop gift certificates. Stop by the FNGLA booth in the main lobby to have your badge scanned to be entered in the drawing.

OFF TO THE RACES – Don’t miss the fun as TPIE’s Opening Night Party takes place track-side at GulfStream Race Park and Casino.  With a full array of food and drinks, the evening promises to be a great opportunity for mixing and mingling and enjoying the surroundings of the nation’s leading winter horse racing venue, then try your luck at the casino and poker tables.  Tickets sales will close at 12 noon on Thursday or sooner if the party sells out, so purchase your tickets as soon as you arrive at the show.
