FNGLA will begin offering a hands-on component to the Florida Water StarSM Accredited Professional training.

Principles of Efficient Irrigation Systems Field Training is sponsored by the St. Johns River Water Management District and Alachua County, and will be taught by Kurt Thompson of K. Thompson and Associates.

This one-day course provides the irrigation professional with tools, skills, and knowledge to use the basic principles in a practical and cost-effective way to meet the challenges of water use efficiency and customer expectations. Attendees will experience the design principles at work in the field provided in a hands-on training format.

The course is ideal to prepare for the Florida Water StarSM Irrigation AP exam and is approved for continuing education credits for FWS and FNGLA’s Certifications.

The first training event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, February 14 at the UF/IFAS Alachua County Extension Office in Gainesville, Florida.

To sign up, visit FNGLA’s storefront section of its website.
