FNGLA Apprenticeship Program Offers Access to Employee Pool

July 9, 2021

FNGLA’s Nursery & Landscape Apprenticeship Program offers FNGLA members the opportunity to attract employees as long-term team members. Apprenticeships in many industries enjoy a long history of delivering solutions for recruiting, training and retaining top-tier talent.

The FNGLA team is now recruiting apprentices throughout Florida. Employers are needed to offer them full-time jobs where each apprentice can learn through on-the-job training.

This program is designed to assist member companies with labor, yet apprentices are not just extra sets of hands. Apprentices are recruited as new blood with the overarching goal of your operations grooming them for eventual supervisory roles. Although apprentices are recruited to work their way into these roles, they often start out with little or no experience. FNGLA seeks out those interested in career paths so you can train and educate them to become model and, hopefully, long-term employees for your nursery or landscape operation.

This is a great opportunity be part of this groundbreaking apprenticeship program. Participating Employers pay a one-time enrollment fee of $325 and then $175 per apprentice placed. FNGLA sends the resumes of prospective apprentices to participating employers to interview the candidates and determine if they fit well with their companies.  Please contact Merry Mott with any questions about finding employees and growing talent through apprenticeship!
